Brad Hounkpati, a Fulbright Scholar, is an entomologist specialized on West African Ladybeetles. He holds a PhD in Entomology, from the University of Georgia. He served as an Agricultural Engineer at Nouvelle Société Cotonnière du Togo (West Africa). Prior to his Fulbright experience, he was previously Assistant Technical Coordinator for the program of Natural Resource Management at U.S. Peace Corps in Togo. He has also served in many roles with organizations working to support agriculture in West Africa, including FAO, International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Cashew Espoir Ltd., and Plant Resource of Tropical Africa (PROTA), to name the few. A life-time member of the Fulbright Association, he served as Advocacy Director and Communication officer for Fulbright in the state of Georgia before becoming the Vice President of Fulbright Georgia Chapter. He is a serial social entrepreneur. Inspired by his Fulbright experience, together with four other Togo Fulbright Alumni, he later created Grain de Sel Togo, Inc., a Georgian 501c3 organization to support underprivileged students in public universities in sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and other Fulbright scholars in the US. He later created BSBIZTOGO, Inc. another organization, providing expert advice on US immigration to foreign nationals from over 50 countries. In the early days of Covid pandemic, he created BSBIZTOGO, Inc. SARL in Togo, a new company providing support to immigrants to the US and employing two full-time employees and an army of volunteers. He later launched a new project “Je rembourse mon école” (I’m reimbursing my school), providing furniture and educational support to secondary schools in Togo. In 2022, he built a new building of three classrooms for Ganave high school in his hometown.
