WARC is supported by the Government of Senegal, which generously grants WARC use of the center’s site. WARC benefits from WARA’s membership to the Council of American Overseas Research Centers and from WARA grants provided by the US Department of Education and the Educational and Cultural Affairs bureau of the US State Department, as well as through the generosity of WARA’s members.
WARC offers a number of services to researchers and scholars. These include assistance with securing research authorizations, visas, and official letters, as well as photocopy, fax, and scanning.
The WARC Restaurant is open weekdays for breakfast and lunch and serves an wide range of West African and Western cuisine. Each day there are two main dishes to choose from, prepared by WARC cooks using only the freshest of ingredients. The pleasant ambiance and moderate prices make the WARC Restaurant an ideal meeting place and also one that allows researchers to conserve time by eating on-site.

* WARC is, first and foremost, a community of scholars whose interests and enthusiasm help shape the programs and priorities of the center. Researchers wishing to take advantage of the various services and scholarly resources of the center are required to take out formal affiliation with WARC. WARC affiliated scholars have preferential access to center facilities, including the WARC library, shared office space (as available), and personal mailboxes at WARC. Affiliated researchers may also inquire about renting private office space.
